Beaches and water sports in La Baule

With its 9 kilometers of blond sand, the beach of La Baule is undoubtedly the most beautiful advantage of this seaside resort. That is why the municipality pays special attention to it. Being cleaned every other night, supervised throughout the summer, forbidden to dogs, it is in an irreproachable cleanliness and security.

The most exclusive part of the beach is located at the district of Benoît, in front of the chic hotels L'Hermitage, the Castel Marie-Louise, as well as the Casino. The sand is particularly fine. Those who are passionate about shore fishing, rendezvous on the side of Pouliguen and Pornichet, where you can make beautiful discoveries at low tide. For those who prefer naturism, La Turballe offers you a beach exclusively dedicated to the practice, safe from the prying eyes.

Staying in La Baule is the perfect opportunity to discover water sports. The range of activities offered is very wide: many beach clubs offer children an initiation to swimming; the surf schools are so numerous, as are the sailing clubs. Kayaking, paddle, jet-skiing, scuba diving can also be practiced.

La Baule is also the city of those who love horses. For an equestrian walk on the beach, you will have to take the authorized access, by the avenue des Hirondelles or the one of Victor Hugo, and to move on right by the water. Until August 15, you can make the most of the sunrise until 9 am, as well as the sunset, starting at 8:30 pm. The rest of the time, the beach is dedicated to swimmers. Be careful : at the Benoît beach, the riders must not trample the shell deposits at low tide.
